Description
Superb Grenada dark milk chocolate with notes of redcurrant, Cabernet Sauvignon and raw cane sugar (panela). Table Chocolates’ expertise bive the bar its unmistakeable mellow silkiness. The Grenada Chocolate Company does not produce a milk bar in deference to its founder, the late Mott Green who was an activist vegan. He revolutionised the cocoa industry in Grenada where there are now 5 chocolate factories with a population of just 100,000 people!
But we feel that he might have enjoyed just a small taste of this delicious bar.
The beans for this bar were grown on the 9 acre Grococo farm and harvested in December 2023. They were then shipped off the island just before Hurricane Beryl in June 2024. Normally the Grococo beans are used by the Grenada chocolate company but these had slipped through the post-Covid organic certification net, and are organic in all but name.
Table are famous for their ‘Traceability on the Table’ strapline, and the beans for this bar were roasted at 125c for 19 minutes, then conched for 65 hours – an unusually long refining period, reflected in the mellow.
The photo shows Chantal and the Grococo farm manager William September on the bridge connecting the farm to the main road in Hermitage.
