The Herring Gull is a familiar sight along Britain’s coastlines. He is a resourceful fellow, equally at home scavenging for scraps or soaring effortlessly on the breeze. Ever the opportunist, he has excellent vision and hearing and, it seems, a taste for salty and acidic foods. So when you are next buying your fish & chips at the beach, go easy on the salt & vinegar!
