The striking black and red facemask and yellow wing bars have earned Goldfinches their reputation for being one of our most handsome birds. They are the ultimate twitterer, with bouncing liquid trills and a confident final flourish. Seen increasingly in city gardens they travel in small charms with a light skippy action.
