Supporting Grenada

Exciting news:

Just before Hurricane Beryl we were lucky to be able to ship 450kg of dry cocoa beans from our own 9 acre farm on the island which, while normally donated to the Chocolate Company, had fallen through the organic certification net, and have now been transformed into bars and ‘broken chocolate’.

Special Editions, collaborating with three British Bean2Bar makers:

*Pump St 66% Bar with Nibs – a tribute to Mott Green

*Table Chocolate 58% Dark Milk Bar

*Neary Nogs Pear and Burnt Sugar (still to arrive in our warehouse)

*The proceeds from all three bars will go back to Grenada to help the farmers and workers at the Grenada Chocolate Company.

We are sorry that we are currently unable to re-stock the Grenada Chocolate Company bar and cocoa powder range. This is owing to a prolonged drought in Grenada earlier this year followed by Hurricane Beryl which knocked down 75% of cocoa trees in the north of the island.

While we have had encouraging reports of flowering trees on the organic farms there will be at least a couple of years delay before a reliable supply can be counted on.
