Packing Specification for Egg Boxes

General Instructions:

Each SKU will have a unique color or a combination of up to 4 colors. See specific SKU details below.

Ensure delivered eggs regain ambient temperature for at least 24 hours on the pallet before opening.

White Egg Boxes with TCD Logo:

1. Egg Handling:

All eggs are packaged 3kg per box, one color per box.

Each color is identified by a different manufacturer code (e.g., 924193 for white praline eggs).

2. Opening Boxes:

Carefully open the top of the 3kg ‘loose’ egg boxes.

Retain and reuse the card boxes for packing finished eggs; remove all labels without flattening the boxes.

New white card outer boxes of the same size will also be provided.

3. Filling and Sealing:

Fill empty egg carton boxes with the correct eggs according to the specifications below.

Close each box.

Affix the wrapper, removing the strip of self-adhesive tape, and seal tightly. Align the colored band on the long edge of the wrapper.

Stick a small Best Before (BB) date/lot number label in the designated space, ensuring it sits squarely within the ‘tram lines’.

4. Packing into Outer Boxes:

  1. Pack 8 egg cartons into either retained outer boxes or new outer boxes of the same size (supplied separately).
  2. Seal outer boxes with ‘Fragile’ paper sticky tape (supplied).
  3. Pack two layers of 4 cartons each into the outer box.
  4. Affix an outer label with the following information (unless advised otherwise):
