Easter Newsletter 2024
Hello subscriber,

  • Early Easter March 31st
  • Special offer!
  • Chocolate seed potatoes at Rob’s allotment
  • Grenada update
  • Duke of York’s farmers market Saturday 23rd
In spite of all the wet weather, we can assure you that Easter will be with us by the end of the month! So what is there to look forward to at the Chocolate Detective?

Currently we have no less than 17 varieties of birds eggs: cooing Lovebirds, perky Puffins, crafty Cuckoos and cheeky Robins, alongside newcomers like the Knepp Storks, all beautifully illustrated and described by the wonderful Madeleine Floyd.

Our bird eggs have been gaining popularity, especially since Jeremy Lee’s stellar review in last year’s Observer Easter Egg round-up, where the Cuckoo scooped both 5 stars and Best Buy egg. His glowing praise sent our packing team into a frenzy, since when the Cuckoo has emerged as a quirky best-seller.

It is our featured Easter Bird this year, alongside the many other avian options - see chart for details. To reduce the last-minute rush of an early Easter we are offering an early bird discount of 5 for the price of 4 on our egg boxes for orders placed by midnight on March 20th. To get this special offer, use discount code Easter2024 at checkout.

For those of you seeking a unique gift during the spring break we also have our classic rose & violet creams, along with our tapered gift boxes, with Detective favourites such as ‘broken’ chocolate and caramelised chocolate almonds.

Please note that the last recommended order date for Easter deliveries is Tuesday March 26th, at midday. Place your orders earlier for the best selection and to allow enough time for Royal Mail to deliver your parcel.

In other news the lovely Rob Smith of @robsallotment discovered our "seed potatoes” and has been sharing them on Instagram. This is one of his photos, thank you Rob! It’s rumoured that Alan Titchmarsh may have heard about them too so get your order in quick before they’re all gone!
Fans of Grenada may have noticed that we now have just a few of the 100% bars left. We are visiting the company in April to connect with the farmers and workers at the Grenada Chocolate Company factory, and hope to have new batches of all their delicious chocolate in early May. Please watch out for further updates.

And finally for anyone in London on March 23rd we’ll have a stand here: https://dukeofyorksquare.com/whats-on/news/fine-food-market-easter-edition We will have a full range of eggs and lots of offers and free tasters.

Thank you for supporting our small family business!
