We trust 2024 has started well for you.
The last year has been very hectic for us as we began to scale the business to cope with increasing demand. We intend to grow organically and look after all the customers, large and small, who have supported us since the early days in lockdown... to this end we have made a commitment to supply small independent local retailers and not work with major chains, and will do our best to ensure that no two customers are in close proximity.
Working with the wonderful illustrator Madeleine Floyd we have expanded the range of birds eggs to include Goldfinches, Blue Tits, Pheasants, Kingfishers, Capercaillies, Swallows and Storks* To go with this we have created a bird identification chart for the first time to help you navigate the different colours and fillings of the range of birds. This has been a great success and we hope it will be something you can share with your customers. We welcome ideas for new birds (an owl is in the pipeline) but inevitably we will have to keep overall numbers at around 20.

*The special box of Stork eggs was created to celebrate the return of wild Storks to breed in England after a gap of 600 years as part of the Knepp re-wilding project.
Our Valentines and Easter price list can be found here. This is best looked at in conjunction with our website. Please remember that while Valentines is on the 14th February as usual, Mothers Day and Easter are very early, on the 10th and 31st March. We do still have stock of Valentines Love Birds and on weekdays can usually ship in stock items within 24 hours.
|
One ongoing development is a trade customers portal (for password reminder, or registration here)for chocolate ordering, just in time for Easter and Valentine's Day. This portal will streamline the ordering process, providing you with greater convenience and control over your purchases as you can see which items are available, together with their expiry dates. Please do contact Tom if you need any help as we are still getting stock in place for this season... and we can continue of course to take orders by email.
|
We receive a few enquiries about local availability so we have created a map indicating some of our outlets here. Please let us know if you if you would like us to update or change any information here? Alternatively please add your outlet here: https://chocolatedetective.co.uk/add-your-outlet/

As part of the Chocolate Detective's commitment to transparency and responsible sourcing, the cocoa for making the chocolate bird eggs is from Ecuador , and the new egg cartons are made from bagasse, a high quality direct food contact board made from sugar cane waste fibre, which is home compostable, reduces wastage and doesn’t need a tissue liner.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
We became a limited company last September. This means that our bank account has changed so please would you update our information on your payment systems.
